Galvan Rust-Proofs 1,600 Megawatt Virginia Power Plant

Galvan Industries has been chosen to provide hot dip galvanizing for the new 1,588-megawatt Greensville County Power Station, located in southern Virginia.  Galvanizing will protect the steel against rust without maintenance for the full 36-year expected life of the plant.

Galvan's David Prior Receives AGA's Daniel M. Hubbell Award

The Daniel M. Hubbell Memorial Award is given only once a year by the American Galvanizers Association (AGA) to recognize an individual who goes above and beyond the call of duty to positively impact the hot-dip galvanizing industry. For 2015, that individual was David Prior, Galvan Industries' Technical Services Manager. The award was presented April 15 at the association's annual meeting.

EDSCO Fasteners To Move NC Manufacturing Operations To Harrisburg

Texas-based EDSCO Fasteners LLC has announced that it will move its North Carolina manufacturing facility from 300 Dalton Avenue, Charlotte to Harrisburg, NC by the end of the first quarter of 2015. James Madison University Scores Big With Galvanizing

For Corrosion Prevention On New Scoreboard

 

Before football season began this year, big changes were taking place at James Madison University's Bridgeforth Stadium in Harrisonburg, Va. One of the biggest was the construction of a new video scoreboard that is among the 50 largest in the country at the college level. Giant Steel Frame For World’s Largest Video Board
Is Protected From Corrosion By Galvan Industries

Concord, NC – Galvan Industries galvanized all 250 tons of structural steel used in the the steel frame that will support the world’s largest high-definition video board at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The design consists of six vertical trusses that stand 135 feet tall. Horizontal beams, platforms and diagonal bracing add support so the screen can withstand gusts up to 100 miles per hour.
